LOCAL EMPOWERMENT

Our Local Empowerment initiative strives to be a powerful tool for Eastern Villages Empowerment Project to successfully enrich the community with sustainability and healthy bright futures.

WATER PUMP & IRRIGATION SYSTEM

The Ateso people in Eastern Uganda are a livestock and agriculturally dependent society. Due to climate change, droughts and floods have been disastrous to their livelihoods, causing famine and poverty. A water pump and irrigation system, for 35.5 acres, could provide the solution to their crisis by countering the inequalities. We are in the stages of raising the money for this project. Every contribution counts, and is greatly appreciated. This project is fundamental in creating sustainability for the community.

MICROCLIMATE DEVELOPMENT

To help manage the land and its resources proper development of the land is required. As crucial as the water pump and irrigation system is for crop development, so is a healthy microclimate. With live fencing and shade the site can maintain longer more consistent growing seasons by ensuring healthy temperatures for the livestock and agriculture to flourish.
